About East Forest
East Forest has a BA in film from Vassar College and an MFA from the ART Institute at Harvard University/MXAT. He worked as a top photographer for over a decade in New York City while coming up in the NYC music scene. Through his own process of self-discovery with music and mushrooms, he developed tools to guide listeners through modern journeys of deep introspection.
Whether via his 5-hr album Music For Mushrooms: A Soundtrack For The Psychedelic Practitioner vol.I, his acclaimed collaborative spoken word album with Ram Dass, his 300+ podcasts, or one of his popular innovative “Ceremony Concerts,” East Forest’s goal has always been “building bridges and creating an approach that’s grounded, embodied, and accessible.”
As an original innovator in the psychedelic music space, East Forest is currently in high demand to offer his insights and perspectives on the role of music and sound in guiding journeys and personal transformation. He has quickly become a thought leader offering a grounded voice deeply needed in today’s often blurry wellness landscape. East Forest has remained steadfast in his offerings since 2008 and the cultural winds have continued to catch up with him. In a rapidly changing world, his vantage point is more relevant and needed today than ever before.
This narrative documentary film, Music For Mushrooms, is uniquely positioned to reach millions of individuals looking for answers at a poignant time of need, with a story and perspective singular to East Forest.
